A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR THE LAND AREAS AND WATERS
OF SOUTHERN COOKS.

Situation:

A  fresh to strong easterly wind flow prevails over Southern Cooks.

A moist easterly wind flow prevails over Northern Cooks. Meanwhile, a weak trough of low pressure lies over the group.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Southern Cooks:

For land areas:

Easterly winds 20 to 25 knots. Strong
winds gradually easing from later tomorrow.
Rough seas.

Fine apart from brief showers.

For land and waters:

Expect damaging moderate to heavy swells with wave heights of up to 4.5m and gradually abating from later today.

Expect easterly winds 20 to 25 knots. Rough seas.
